At Mayo Clinic's Minnesota campus, inpatient rehabilitation care is provided in the 38-bed inpatient Comprehensive Rehabilitation Unit, located in the Mary Brigh Building at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus. Care in the unit is designed to maximize your independence and assist with your transition back into the community.
Those admitted to the unit are people who can realistically expect to improve functional performance within a predictable time period. You're expected to be able to participate in three hours of therapy a day. Therapies provided in the inpatient setting include physical, occupational, speech and recreational therapy.
Inpatient care programs include rehabilitation for:
- Spinal cord trauma
- Brain injury
- Neurological disorders
- Major multiple trauma
- Complex medical disorders
- Bones (orthopedic)
- Lungs (pulmonary)
- Pediatric rehabilitation and physical medicine needs
The inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus, is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
